【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversbrickmadeprincipallyfromsandandlimeandintendedforuseinbrickmasonry.Twogradesofbrickarecovered:1.1.1GradeSW8212;Brickintendedforusewhereexposedtotemperaturebelowfreezinginthepresenceofmoisture.Note18212;Asatypicalexample,brickusedforfoundationcoursesandparapetsinthenortheasternquarteroftheUnitedStatesshouldconformtoGradeSW.1.1.2GradeMW8212;Brickintendedforusewhereexposedtotemperaturebelowfreezingbutunlikelytobesaturatedwithwater.Note28212;Asatypicalexample,brickexposedinthefaceofthewallotherthanparapetorfoundations,orbrickintendedforstructureslocatedinregionsoftheUnitedStatescharacterizedbylessseverefrostactionorbydrierclimatethanisfoundinthenortheasternquarteroftheUnitedStatesshouldconformtoGradeMW.1.1.3Whenthetermbrickisusedinthisspecification,itisunderstoodtomeanbrickorsolidmasonryunits.1.2Ifbrickhavingaparticularcolor,texture,finish,oruniformityisdesired,thesefeaturesshallbespecifiedseparatelybythepurchaser.1.3Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.
