【摘要】:Thistestmethodisastandardprocedurefordeterminingtheresistancetowaterpenetrationunderuniformstaticairpressuredifferences.Theair-pressuredifferencesactingacrossabuildingenvelopevarygreatly.Thesefactorsshouldbefullyconsideredpriortospecifyingthetestpressuredifferencetobeused.Note18212;Inapplyingtheresultsoftestsbythistestmethod,notethattheperformanceofawalloritscomponents,orboth,maybeafunctionofproperinstallationandadjustment.Inservice,theperformancewillalsodependontherigidityofsupportingconstructionandontheresistanceofcomponentstodeteriorationbyvariouscauses,vibration,thermalexpansionandcontraction,etc.Itisdifficulttosimulatetheidenticalcomplexwettingconditionsthatcanbeencounteredinservice,withlargewind-blownwaterdrops,increasingwaterdropimpactpressureswithincreasingwindvelocity,andlateralorupwardmovingairandwater.Somedesignsaremoresensitivethanotherstothisupwardmovingwater.Note28212;Thistestmethoddoesnotidentifyunobservableliquidwaterwhichmaypenetrateintothetestspecimen.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheresistanceofexteriorwindows,curtainwalls,skylights,anddoorstowaterpenetrationwhenwaterisappliedtotheoutdoorfaceandexposededgessimultaneouslywithauniformstaticairpressureattheoutdoorfacehigherthanthepressureattheindoorface.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletoanycurtain-wallareaortowindows,skylights,ordoorsalone.1.3Thistestmethodaddresseswaterpenetrationthroughamanufacturedassembly.Waterthatpenetratestheassembly,butdoesnotresultinafailureasdefinedherein,mayhaveadverseeffectsontheperformanceofcontainedmaterialssuchassealantsandinsulatingorlaminatedglass.Thistestmethoddoesnotaddresstheseissues.1.4Theproperuseofthistestmethodrequiresaknowledgeoftheprinciplesofpressuremeasurement.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,see7.1.
